The small print. Arthur read most of it.

Policies, terms and other important paperwork—written clearly enough that nobody should need to ask Arthur what he meant.

Privacy Policy

Workshop note

The following contains the official wording. Arthur has been specifically asked not to improvise.

 Privacy Policy

Arthur’s rule is simple: never lend out someone’s spanner—or their personal information—without a proper reason.

For data-protection purposes, Singularis Media Ltd. is the controller of personal information collected through properlywrong.com.

Information we collect

Depending on how you use the website, we may collect:

  • your name;
  • billing and delivery addresses;
  • email address and telephone number;
  • account and login information;
  • order, product and delivery details;
  • communications with customer support;
  • refund, return and complaint information;
  • marketing preferences;
  • IP address, browser, device and website-usage information;
  • cookie and consent preferences; and
  • limited payment information supplied by payment providers, such as payment status and the final digits of a card.

We do not normally receive or store your complete card number.

How we receive information

We collect information:

  • directly from you when you create an account, place an order or contact us;
  • automatically when you use the website;
  • from payment providers;
  • from delivery and fulfilment partners; and
  • from services used to protect, maintain and analyse the website.

Why we use your information

We may use personal information to:

  • create and manage your account;
  • process and fulfil orders;
  • take and confirm payments;
  • deliver products;
  • provide customer support;
  • process cancellations, returns and refunds;
  • send essential order and service messages;
  • detect fraud, misuse or security threats;
  • maintain and improve the website;
  • comply with tax, accounting and legal obligations;
  • establish or defend legal claims; and
  • send marketing where you have consented or where another lawful marketing basis applies.

Our lawful bases may include performance of a contract, compliance with a legal obligation, legitimate interests and consent, depending on the purpose.

Arthur’s personal preference—“because it might be useful later”—is not an accepted lawful basis.

Payment providers

Payments may be handled by providers including:

  • Stripe and Link;
  • Amazon Pay;
  • Apple Pay; and
  • Google Pay.

These providers process payment information under their own privacy terms and security arrangements.

Fulfilment and delivery

We may share the information needed to manufacture and deliver your order with fulfilment providers such as Printful and with the relevant delivery companies.

This may include your name, delivery address, contact information, order details and the product purchased.

We do not provide fulfilment partners with information they do not reasonably need to complete the order.

Other organisations we use

Information may also be processed by organisations that provide:

  • website hosting, including IONOS;
  • WordPress and WooCommerce services;
  • payment processing;
  • printing and fulfilment;
  • delivery and tracking;
  • email and customer communication;
  • fraud prevention and website security;
  • professional accounting, legal or technical support; and
  • analytics or cookie-management services where enabled.

We may disclose information where required by law, court order, regulatory authority or legitimate law-enforcement request.

International processing

Some service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom.

Where UK data-protection law requires safeguards for an international transfer, we will take reasonable steps to ensure an appropriate legal safeguard is used.

How long we keep information

We keep information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected.

Order and transaction records may be retained for several years where required for accounting, taxation, dispute resolution or legal obligations.

Account information may be retained while the account remains active. Marketing preferences may be retained so that we can respect an unsubscribe request rather than accidentally asking Arthur to email you again.

We periodically review information and delete or anonymise it when it is no longer required.

Cookies

The website uses essential cookies required for functions such as:

  • maintaining the shopping basket;
  • remembering checkout progress;
  • account login and security;
  • payment processing; and
  • storing privacy choices.

The website may also use analytics, preference or marketing cookies where these are enabled.

Where consent is legally required, non-essential cookies should not be activated until you have made the relevant choice. Cookie consent must be separate and should not simply be hidden inside this privacy policy.

Marketing

We may send marketing where you have asked to receive it or where the law otherwise permits us to contact existing customers about similar products.

Every marketing email will provide a clear way to unsubscribe.

You can also opt out by contacting support@singularis.co.uk

Opting out of marketing will not prevent essential messages concerning an order, refund, account or security matter.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to:

  • be informed about how your information is used;
  • request access to your information;
  • correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • request deletion;
  • restrict certain processing;
  • object to processing;
  • receive certain information in a portable form; and
  • withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

These rights are not absolute and legal exceptions may apply.

To make a request, contact support@singularis.co.uk We may need to verify your identity before acting on it.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect personal information from unauthorised access, loss, alteration or disclosure.

No internet service is entirely risk-free, but we do not leave customer information on Arthur’s workbench under a mug.

Children

The website and products are not specifically directed at children, and we do not knowingly seek to collect personal information directly from children.

A parent or guardian should contact us if they believe a child has provided personal information improperly.

Complaints

Please contact us first if you have concerns about how we use your information:

support@singularis.co.uk

You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office. The ICO generally expects people to raise the concern with the organisation first so that it has an opportunity to respond.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our website, providers or legal obligations change.

The latest version will always appear on this page with its revision date.

Arthur will continue to insist the original version was perfectly adequate.
